Luke 1:57-80
So how many times does God put something on our
heart and we set out to do it, but then someone says why are you doing that, or
you should do it this way, or that doesn’t make any sense, and then we get
discouraged and don’t go ahead with the plan?
I know I have done it….I have let the words and
actions of others interfere with what God wants me to do. I have even let my own self get in the way of God’s plan by not believing in myself and what God can do through me. All of these are just tactics of Satan and are meant to steer us off the path that God has called each of us to walk. After reading about Elizabeth and Zacharias, I thought even in the face of adversity they are standing firm on what God had told them. It seems so simple, it was just the name of a baby….John, yet these people are questioning them. Why would you name him John? They even tried to cause division between Elizabeth and Zacharias, but they both stood firm and look at the result of their obedience. A son that lead the way for the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ! Even the best intentions of others can be used to make us doubt what God has called us to do. That is why it is so important, essential even, that we stay in tune with God by staying in his Word, by praying constantly, by simply conversing with Jesus on a continuous basis. When we commit our life to following Jesus, things will happen, things will change, and we will find ourselves rejoicing in all that God has done for us just like Zacharias singing his song of praise to God at the birth of his son!

I would like to thank all of you that have been
praying for my Aunt Barbara, she is doing much better! She is off the heart pump and handling it
well. Please continue with me in prayer and praises to our Father, Jesus
Christ! To God be all the Glory!
