Shine the Light!!!!

Today's Reading Mark 4:21-25     

                                                                                                                                            

As I read through these scriptures I thought of this poem that a wonderful friend once gave me.  It was during a difficult time in my life and it made a huge impact on my life.  As children of God we are truly meant to shine the light of Jesus Christ to the world.  After all shouldn’t we be so excited about each day that we want to shine?  Think about it, no matter how difficult or how great a day we are having we are children of God and we will live forever with Him---now how great is that? 

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
