What Do You Believe?

Today’s Reading: Matthew 21:23-27

Do you know what you believe? Do you stand on that truth and not waiver? We may not have the answer to every question, but that is not what God asks us to do, he asks us to stand on truth and just be honest. You know just being honest makes life so much easier, yet it seems today, like the chief priests and elders of the past, people are always contemplating what to say because they want to be sure and say what people want to hear, truth or not. So sad, but I hate to say so true---I see it all the time.

Really Jesus’ question to these men were making them claim what they believed in, but they couldn’t even come up with a definite answer, in fact there answer was ‘we don’t know’. They were more concerned about what others would think about the answer they gave Jesus, so they gave no affirmative answer. So from their answer what did they believe? They were straddling the fence and we cannot do that. We either have to claim Jesus Christ or we have to claim Satan---sounds harsh I know, but really there is no in between. We are either for him or against him. With everything in me I want to be for him, I pray that I never alter what I say in order to satisfy the ears of those around me. I pray that my life shouts who I belong to.
